Job Description
The position in question involves assisting with the preparation of food items according to section assignment, in compliance with established recipe and food safety standards. This includes adhering to sanitation protocols, managing portion and quality control, and ensuring a high standard of food production and presentation.
In addition to these responsibilities, the individual will be required to follow company guidelines, working under the supervision of their superior to maintain efficient and technically correct performance. They must also adhere to procedures outlined in the training manual and ensure total guest satisfaction.
Specific Responsibilities
* Day-to-day cleaning of workstation, adhering to Mystic Cruises standards.
* Practicing good workplace standards and enforcing HACCP/SHIPSAN principles.
* Developing familiarity with all galley departments, understanding relationships and interactions.
* Conducting regular checks on workstations before each shift, utilizing appropriate checklists.
* Maintaining a clean and sanitized working environment.
* Minimizing food spoilage and utilizing surplus foods effectively.
* Working overtime as requested.
* Discarding any potentially hazardous food items that do not comply with company requirements.
* Complying with personal hygiene regulations, including wearing head coverings, no facial hair, and covering injuries.
* Not consuming or smoking during duty hours, except at designated water fountains.
* Utilizing only tested and safe surplus foods, free from contamination and bacteriological degradation.
