Overview
The Life Insurance production team supports BPCE life insurance product offers. The team manages more than 300 applications promoting Life Insurance to individuals, professionals, and retail clients from BPCE Group banks (Banques Populaires, Caisse d’Epargne, Bred…). The team handles applications deployed in BP and CE agencies as well as end-user, backoffice and business applications to provide life, retirement, wealth transfer and death insurance products. Platforms run on Linux, Windows, and public Cloud IaaS/PaaS (Azure, AWS, GCP). Most applications use a third‑party web architecture with Jboss/IBM HTTP Server, Tomcat and PHP, with databases such as Oracle Exadata, MySQL and SQL Server. The ODS and Datawarehouse are built with Informatica ETL and used by SAS, IBM Cognos, SAS, PowerBI or Data Labs on GCP. Installations follow a DevOps mindset with XLDeploy/XLRelease for CD and release management, and support to development teams using tools like Jenkins, Artifactory, Bitbucket.
We are looking for a Senior Application Support Engineer in WEB Application to join our Dev application support team. You will develop technical and functional knowledge, handle support for assigned applications, be proactive in incident management, identify effective solutions for recurrent incidents, continuously improve and automate procedures, maintain up‑to‑date documentation, and coordinate with the development team through regular follow‑ups.
Missions
* Participate in the Operators' projects under the guidance of the Project Director and/or Project Manager of BPCE Managed Services and Technologies during construction and production phases of application evolutions.
* Ensure the availability of technical resources.
* Analyze and correct incidents at levels 2 and 3.
* Actively participate in production and software development processes with Operators, Editors, and provide operational support to project teams.
* Implement technical resolution solutions for incidents, perform diagnostics to identify causes of malfunction, and propose and implement back‑up fixes and solutions.
* Maintain information system applications in operational condition for quality, productivity and security.
* Analyze operational risks and customer impacts within area of responsibility.
* Manage environments (needs definition, development/acceptance environment validation, monitoring).
* Provide advice, assistance, information, training and early warning in integration, define components of the IS, steer implementation and guarantee required quality.
* Participate in defining usability requirements and interface with other areas or suppliers as needed.
* Define standards for operating systems and ensure their application (IT security, quality, etc.).
* Contribute to reliability, security, and optimization of security in area of responsibility.
* Offer innovative solutions to improve performance of activities; ensure service level quality in line with SLA.
* Support integration activities, design/choose solutions, produce information system evolutions, and manage operational preparation files.
* Integrate solutions or hardware into the reference system and ensure component availability; participate in certification.
* Packaging activities: install components, port versions, assist teams with installation and production of released versions, manage the platform repository.
* Approval activities: ensure software approvals, perform acceptance, validation, installation and provision of components, and execute technical tests and reception; deliver applications (documentation, components).
* Support activities: maintain user IT working environment, provide assistance, advice, information and training; contribute to continuous improvement by voicing user feedback; participate in projects impacting the supported work environment.
Qualifications
* Minimum 10 years of experience in IT projects with web applications; experience migrating from WebSphere to JBoss is a plus.
* Strong experience in IT web projects based on 3‑tier architecture.
* Good knowledge of Linux and Windows environments.
* Proficient in scripting (Shell, Python and/or PowerShell).
* Experience with web and Java application monitoring tools (Zabbix, Grafana, AppDynamics, ELK, etc.).
* Knowledge of security: SSL certificates, reverse proxy, load balancing, firewall, Active Directory.
* General knowledge of deployment tools (GIT, Jenkins, XL Deploy, XL Release, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Openshift, Docker).
* Knowledge of Control-M and networking.
* Soft Skills: Proficiency in English (minimum B2); French is a plus. Strong organizational and project management skills; experience with Agile & DevOps; excellent verbal communication; problem solving and attention to detail; on-call availability.
