Wine Ambassador

About the Role:
* Inform customers about an extensive wine offer, detailing types and prices, to drive sales and enhance customer satisfaction.
* Offer expert advice on wine pairings, considering customer requests and food preferences, to increase average spend and loyalty.
* Train staff on wine service best practices, including temperature control and glassware selection, to ensure exceptional customer experiences.
* Maintain proper storage and conditioning of open wines to preserve their quality and integrity.
* Monitor cellar conditions and manage stock levels to guarantee a fully loaded inventory and minimize waste.
* Collaborate with colleagues to develop and update the wine list, featuring new and historical wines, to stay competitive and drive sales.
About You:
* Prior experience in a similar role, preferably with international exposure, to bring a global perspective and expertise.
* Academic qualifications (WSET 2/3 or sommelier degree) and a proven track record as a sommelier, to demonstrate expertise and passion for wine.
* Excellent communication skills and empathy, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service, to build strong relationships and drive loyalty.
* Strong commercial acumen and sales skills, with a deep understanding of national and international wines, to drive sales and revenue growth.
* Fluency in English is mandatory, with additional language proficiency a plus, to communicate effectively with diverse customers and colleagues.
Key Requirements:
* Sommelier certification or equivalent experience.
* Excellent knowledge of wine varieties, regions, and production methods.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
* Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
