We are looking for a Sommelier to join our 5 star hotel in an international group, located in the stunning Madeira Island
What we need:
-Knowledge in wines, Countries, Regions and Grape varieties.
-Certificate in F&B;
-Experience in similiar market;
-Foundness for customer service;
-Upselling skills;
-Organization skills, comunication and resilience;
-Team work;
-Desire and ability to train and develop staff to be able to explain and sell wines;
-Proficiency in speaking and writing in Portuguese & English, basic German, French is a plus;
-WSET certificate is a plus.
Main Responsibilities and Duties:
-Monitors the ordering of all wines for restaurants;
-Wine service in the restaurants;
-Ensure the correct storage of wine and availability in stock;
-Make recommendations accordingly;
-Supporting the F&B team in developing great food and wine pairings;
-Ensure wines are served in their right temperature as well as correct type of glass;
-Actively participate in suggestions for improvement;
-Ensure a memorable customer experience;
-Drafts a menu in coordination with Bar Manager;
-Ensuring high levels of customer service at all times to always meet our guest's expectations.
