About the RoleWe're looking for a high-energy, motivated Business Development Representative (BDR) to support our sales team in a fast-paced, high-volume software environment.
In this role, you'll be on the front lines of our revenue engine — engaging prospects, qualifying opportunities, and setting up our Account Executives for success.You'll work closely with Account Executives and global reseller partners to identify customer needs, generate pipeline, and ensure a smooth handoff of qualified opportunities.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys outbound and inbound engagement, thrives on activity-based goals, and wants to grow their career in software sales.ResponsibilitiesQualify inbound leads and conduct initial discovery to assess fit, need, and urgencyExecute outbound outreach (calls, emails) to generate new opportunitiesSchedule qualified meetings and demos for Account ExecutivesBuild and maintain a strong pipeline of sales-ready opportunitiesSupport Account Executives by gathering key account, technical, and business context prior to handoffEngage with prospective customers and, when needed, support reseller-led sales motionsGain a deep understanding of customer business needs to deliver tailored solutionsIdentify and develop new business opportunities while driving growth within existing accountsExecute strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targetsTrack all activity, notes, and lead status accurately in the CRMMeet or exceed monthly targets for outreach activity, meetings set, and pipeline contributionCollaborate with sales, marketing, and partner teams to improve lead quality and conversionContinuously learn our products, ideal customer profiles, and buyer personasRequirements1–3 years of experience in sales, business development, or lead generation (software/SaaS preferred)Strong written and verbal English communication skillsStrategic thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving abilitiesProven success in selling comprehensive business solutionsExceptional telemarketing and prospecting skills, including cold callingExperience in selling, negotiation, and customer service skillsComfortable engaging prospects by phone, email, and videoAbility to quickly understand and articulate basic product value to both technical and non-technical audiencesHighly organized and disciplined, with strong follow-up and time management skillsSelf-motivated and comfortable working in a metrics-driven, high-volume environmentFamiliarity with CRM systems and sales engagement toolsAbility to work independently in a remote or distributed teamWillingness to collaborate across time zones and support international teamsNice to HaveExperience supporting Account Executives or partner-led sales motionsExposure to enterprise or mid-market B2B salesInterest in building a long-term career in software salesAn Equal Opportunity Employer - All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.By submitting your application, you acknowledge that Idera, Inc. will process and retain your resume and related personal information solely for recruitment and hiring purposes.
