Reliability Engineer – Heat Pump Development
Location: Aveiro, Portugal
Key Responsibilities
* Provide preventive quality support to development teams working on air‑to‑water heat pumps.
* Coordinate sample logistics and test preparation activities.
* Assist in laboratory operations, including shipment of samples, test rig setup, and preparation.
* Derive reliability requirements based on load profiles and product usage.
* Assemble test setups, create and execute test plans, and document validation and reliability results.
* Actively contribute to the creation and review of reliability test procedures.
* Support field monitoring and assist in solving quality issues using structured problem‑solving methods (e.g., 8D).
* Present and communicate test results and findings to cross‑functional development teams.
Qualifications
* Languages: Proficiency in Portuguese and English (written and spoken).
* Education: Master’s or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field.
* Technical Knowledge: Mechanical construction, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, refrigeration, statistical methods, component design, reliability testing, material science/testing.
* Tools & Software: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with lab‑related IT tools (e.g., MATLAB, LabVIEW) is valued.
* Experience: Previous involvement in product technical development projects; background in refrigeration applications is a plus.
* Soft Skills: Strong communication skills in English; results‑oriented, proactive, critical thinking, problem‑solving mindset; team player with collaborative working style.
