Job Opportunity
An entry-level management position is available in the culinary department.
* Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, or a 2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
Candidate Responsibilities
Maintaining Culinary Standards and Responsibilites
* Ensure food handling and sanitation standards are met.
* Perform duties of culinary and related kitchen area employees as needed.
* Oversee production and preparation of culinary items.
* Keep work areas clean and sanitary.
* Work with other departments to coordinate service and timing of events and meals.
* Comply with loss prevention policies and procedures.
* Strive for improved service performance.
* Identify areas in need of attention and communicate them to staff.
* Lead shifts while preparing food items and executing requests.
* Prepare and cook foods of all types.
* Supervise and coordinate activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation.
* Check the quality of raw and cooked food products.
* Create decorative food displays.
Supporting Culinary Team Activities
* Supervise daily shift operations.
* Ensure all employees have proper supplies and equipment.
* Manage staffing levels to meet guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives.
* Complete assigned duties.
* Participate in employee performance appraisal process.
* Handle employee questions and concerns.
* Communicate performance expectations.
* Conduct training when necessary.
* Monitor employee progress towards meeting performance expectations.
Maintaining Culinary Goals
* Participate in department meetings and communicate departmental goals.
* Support new menus and concepts.
Providing Exceptional Customer Service
* Sets a positive example for guest relations.
* Handles guest problems and complaints.
* Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
Additional Responsibilities
* Reports equipment malfunctions.
* Purchases supplies and manages inventories.
* Attends meetings.
