We are hiring a Software Engineer for our OpenStack Engineering team. This role involves building Charmed OpenStack and Ceph, open source Python-based charms for deploying and managing OpenStack and Ceph, bringing cloud platform technologies to diverse environments. The ideal candidate is a Python developer passionate about automating infrastructure as code, open source, Linux, and OpenStack.
Responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating proactively with a distributed team
2. Writing high-quality code for new features
3. Debugging issues and fixing bugs
4. Reviewing code from peers
5. Collaborating on solutions and ideas
6. Ensuring OpenStack and Ceph success across architectures
7. Working from home with international travel 2-4 times a year
Qualifications include:
* Passion for technology and teamwork

* Soft skills such as being thoughtful and self-motivated
* Bachelor's or equivalent in Computer Science, STEM, or related field
* Experience with Python
* Interest/experience in multiple areas like Ubuntu Linux, Kubernetes, OpenStack, Ceph, AI/ML, QEMU/KVM, LXC/LXD, Go, C, databases, packaging, scalable web services
* Experience with non-x86 architectures (s390, arm64, power)
* Experience with cloud technologies like OpenStack, OVN, Openvswitch
