We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team in Funchal, Portugal. Our company is a leading architectural firm with a strong reputation for innovative and sustainable design solutions. As a Senior Architect, you will be responsible for leading and managing projects from conception through to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage projects from initial concept through to construction completion
- Oversee all aspects of project design, including site analysis, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and develop design solutions that meet their requirements
- Conduct site visits and prepare reports on existing conditions
- Prepare accurate cost estimates and project timelines
- Coordinate with consultants such as engineers and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Ensure all designs comply with building codes and regulations
- Mentor junior team members and provide guidance on complex design issues
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in architectural design, with at least 3 years in a senior role
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and construction methods
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant software
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with clients and team members
- Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members
- Fluency in Portuguese is preferred but not required
