Horticulturist and Production Manager - Portugal
Would you like to lead the operation and development of our fresh legume production in Portugal? We are looking for an independent and entrepreneurial Horticulturist who sees opportunities instead of limitations and brings a constructive approach to the table, turning strategy into growth through professional operations.
GreenPeas A/S is a Danish company with production in both Denmark and Portugal. We are Europe's largest producer of fresh green peas for snacks, salads, and cooking, as well as other fresh legumes. Our products are sold to the retail and wholesale markets in Denmark and the rest of Europe, and we are currently strengthening our international setup.
Your Role and Mission As our lead in Portugal, you will play a key role with a high degree of freedom and significant responsibility. You will be the architect behind the implementation of our production strategies and ensure that GreenPeas' visions become a reality on Portuguese soil.
You will not merely supervise existing production; you must be entrepreneurial, actively seeking out and developing operations and new business areas in line with our overall strategy. You will be responsible for strategic production planning and ensuring a professional implementation of our concepts. You see opportunities where others see limitations, and your constructive approach ensures progress at every stage.
Your Primary Responsibilities
* Strategic Planning: Responsible for production plans and implementation in accordance with GreenPeas' strategies and visions.
* Business Development: Identify and build new production areas and business opportunities in Portugal.
* Operations Management: Independent management of daily operations with a focus on quality, efficiency, and innovation.
* Relationship Building: Create and maintain vital relationships with local partners, authorities, and suppliers.
About You - The Right Pioneer
* Professional Background: You are a trained Horticulturist or have another relevant high-level agricultural education.
* IT Skills: You are an experienced user or expert in Microsoft Excel and the rest of the Office suite, as you must be able to handle complex production plans and data.
* Languages: You speak and write Portuguese and English fluently.
* Work Style: You work very independently and thrive with full responsibility in a "remote" setup.
* Personality: You are independent, entrepreneurial, and always see opportunities instead of limitations. You meet challenges with a constructive approach.
* Strategic Vision: You can think long-term and translate complex strategies into concrete actions in the field.

* Gestão de Operações: Gestão independente do dia-a-dia da operação com foco na qualidade, eficiência e inovação.
* Criação de Relações: Criar e manter relações vitais com parceiros locais, autoridades e fornecedores.
Sobre Si - O Pioneiro Ideal
* Formação Académica: É licenciado(a) em Horticultura, Engenharia Agronómica ou possui outra formação agrícola relevante de nível superior.
* Competências de TI: É um utilizador experiente ou especialista em Microsoft Excel e no restante pacote Office, pois deve ser capaz de lidar com planos de produção e dados complexos.
* Idiomas: Fluência em Português e Inglês (falado e escrito).
* Método de Trabalho: Trabalha de forma muito independente e sente-se à vontade com total responsabilidade num ambiente "remoto".
