As a Senior Software Engineer, you will participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders, estimate and own delivery tasks, drive code/design/process trade-off discussions, apply best practices from previous industry experience, report status and manage risks within your primary application/service, perform demos/acceptance discussions, drive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, identify opportunities to improve an overall process, and share and seek knowledge within your Guild/Program.

Key Responsibilities:
">
• Participate in team prioritization discussions with Product/Business stakeholders
">
• Estimate and own delivery tasks (design, dev, test, deployment, configuration, documentation) to meet the business requirements
">
• Drive code/design/process trade-off discussions within your team when required
">
• Apply best practices from previous industry experience, whilst adhering to our own engineering principles of writing high quality, secure code that is modular, functional and testable;
">
• Report status and manage risks within your primary application/service
">
• Perform demos/acceptance discussions in interacting with Product owners
">
• Drive adoption of technology standards and opinionated frameworks, and review coding, test, and automation work of team members
">
• Identify opportunities to improve an overall process and trim waste
">
• Share and seek knowledge within your Guild/Program to drive reuse of patterns/libraries/practices and enhance productivity
">
Requirements:
">
• A degree in Computer Science or related discipline
">
• Strong experience with server-side, backend applications and technologies, namely microservices architectures;
">
• Strong experience using Java / Spring / RESTful APIs
">
• Strong experience conducting unit, component, integrated and functional tests (e.g. Junit, Mockito, Cocumber etc.)
">
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
">
• You are proactive and eager to learn new things
">
• You are a team player
">
Nice To Have Skills:
">
• Experience in an Agile environment
">
• Previous experience with Microservices, Event Architectures (e.g. Kafka)
">
• Previous experience with metrics / reporting tools (Grafana, Splunk, etc.)
">
• Previous experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry to deploy cloud-ready applications;
