We are looking for an Operations Engineer (Ops) who resonates with the following qualities:
Context:
Within an agile team operating under the SAFe framework, the Operations Engineer ensures the proper functioning and reliability of Java banking applications. This role involves close collaboration with Java developers, DevOps engineers, business analysts, Product Owners, Scrum Masters, Project Managers, and testers, requiring adaptable technical communication.
Main Responsibilities:
* Monitor and ensure operational availability of applications and Kubernetes environments.
* Prevent incidents and actively participate in their resolution alongside DevOps engineers and the Java Tech Lead.
* Automate daily team tasks using Python/Shell scripts, Jenkins pipelines, Jira/Xray integration.
* Interact with internal APIs to enhance processes.
* Manage and evolve processing chains in Control-M (creating, modifying, deleting jobs across environments).
* Participate in continuous improvement initiatives through GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
* Communicate effectively with stakeholders, tailoring language for technical and non-technical audiences.
Required Technical Skills:
* Monitoring & Observability: Datadog
* Automation & CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, scripting (Python, Shell)
* Orchestration & Scheduling: Kubernetes and Control-M (mandatory expertise)
* Security & Secrets Management: Vault
* Quality, Testing & Artifact Management: Artifactory, SonarQube, Jira Xray
* Agile Project Management: Jira
* Strong understanding of GitOps and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
Profile Sought:
* Proven experience in banking or large enterprise with complex systems
* Strong Ops background, focused on incident prevention and resolution
* Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and simplify technical concepts
* Autonomy, rigor, and continuous improvement mindset
* Proficiency in French (spoken and written) highly valued
Requirements:
* Degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience
* At least 5 years of relevant experience in a similar role
