We are looking for a high-caliber Java Backend Developer to join a cutting-edge project. This is not typical Spring-boot developer role - we're searching for someone who understands Java at its core.
You will work at the core of our trading applications, directly impacting how traders interact with the system.
Main Tasks:
* Develop and maintain high-performance backend services in Java 17.
* Work on core trading applications with focus on low latency & high throughput.
* Optimize Java Virtual Machine performance, including Garbage Collection tuning.
* Implement concurrent, multithreaded processing logic.
* Apply reactive programming and system optimization techniques.
* Collaborate with a technical team to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.
* Contribute to containerized deployments and CI/CD workflows.
Technical Skills:
* Strong expertise in modern Java (v17).
* Solid academic background.
* Previous experience in Trading, or other high-performance, low-latency environments.
* Deep understanding of:
* Java Collections, Garbage Collector tuning
* Multithreading, Concurrency, Reactive Systems
* Performance Optimization
* Experience with containers (Docker, etc.)
* Fluent in English (B2 or more).
Hybrid Role in Porto or Lisbon.
