Job Description
We are looking for algorithm simulation engineers with some knowledge of Layer 1 (L1) algorithms (OSI 7-layer model), from system level all the way to L1 architecture and specification of 3GPP - mobile broadband standard. You would be located in Amadora, Portugal, working within a global team and helping to ramp up a new system simulation team.
Position: Internship
Duration: 12 months
Start date (tentative): January, 2026
Location: On-site in Amadora, Portugal
Education recommendations: Currently a candidate finishing their BSc or MSc degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field with an accredited school
How You Will Contribute And What You Will Learn
* Collaborate on defining and optimizing Telecom Radio Access algorithms
* Model algorithms and functionalities in link-level simulators
* Participate in technical reviews and document findings
* Support L1 architecture development
Key Skills And Experience
You have:
* Knowledge of 3GPP standardization documentation, processes, and forums
* Background on wireless/ telecom systems
* Skills in programming in MATLAB
* Fluency in English
It would be nice if you also had:
* Knowledge of L1 SoC chipset and chip-level architecture
* Understanding of L1 algorithms
* Background in communications theory and signal processing
* Strong team working skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
