ROLE SUMMARY:
King's College School Cascais (KCS Cascais) is Portugal's leading premium international school, delivering a world-class academic experience for students aged 1 to 18. Opened in 2022, it is part of the prestigious King's College group, which has been educating students for over 50 years, with a reputation for academic excellence, innovation, and leadership
The school is housed on a €70 million+ purpose-built campus, which will be fully completed by June 2025. These state-of-the-art facilities set a new benchmark for modern education in Portugal, featuring:

To join our growing team, we are looking for a Design and Technology Technician who is organised, hands-on, safety-conscious, and passionate about supporting innovative and practical learning experiences.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the Design & Technology teacher(s) in the preparation and delivery of lessons.
- Set up tools, equipment, and materials for practical classes and ensure workspaces are safe, tidy, and ready for use.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, functional, and stored properly.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and track inventory.
- Assist students during practical sessions, ensuring safe and effective use of equipment.
- Ensure all Health & Safety regulations are met in the D&T environment, including risk assessments and COSHH documentation.
- Provide technical support and creative input during project work and school exhibitions.
- Support in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of displays, teaching aids, and learning resources.
- Stay updated on new tools, materials, and best practices in Design & Technology education.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
- Relevant technical qualifications or experience in Design & Technology or a similar field (e.g. engineering, carpentry, electronics, or product design).
- Strong organisational and practical skills.
- A good understanding of tools, machines, and materials used in a school D&T setting.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and a proactive approach to safe working practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written).
- Enthusiastic, hands-on, and keen to support a creative learning environment.
- Availability for a full-time position.
