Step into a pivotal leadership role at a fast-scaling international tech company that's doubling down on innovation and team growth across Portugal. As Lead Node.js Engineer, you'll be entrusted with building and leading a brand new engineering team from the ground up, taking full ownership of a critical new product initiative set to redefine the company's core offering.
In this leadership position, you'll shape the culture and direction of your team, mentor engineers, and guide technical strategy—all while staying hands-on with a modern Node.js stack. Your team will be responsible for the search functionality of the platform, a core business component, as the company transitions from a legacy monolith to a scalable, microservices-based, cloud-native architecture.
Whether you're a senior engineer ready to lead or an experienced leader seeking greater impact, this is your opportunity to architect not just a product, but an entire team. You'll play a central role in one of the company's most ambitious modernisation efforts, driving technical excellence while fostering a high-trust, high-autonomy team culture.
You will:
- Lead and mentor a new team of engineers
- Guide delivery of a greenfield product with high visibility
- Stay hands-on with Node.js and modern cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with product, QA, and leadership to drive success
Skills / Experience:
- Strong engineering background (Node.js is a must)
- Passion for coaching, influencing, and building team culture
