Our core products include transportation management, logistics sourcing, freight forwarding, supply chain consulting, tax management, and trade compliance operational support and consulting.What does a Global Trade Compliance Specialist do?The Global Trade Compliance Specialist will support the import and export compliance needs of clients, such as answering broker requests, classifying items according to Harmonized Tariff, researching import and export requirements such as Partner Government Agency restrictions, coordinating timely shipment clearance, and auditing entries.Required Experience and Education:Bachelor's or equivalent college degree preferredProgram and project management experience preferredAbility to formulate and present high-level presentations and conduct trainingIdeal Candidate Skills:- Problem-solving skills- Effective time management and prioritization skillsResponsibilities:Provide instructions to client's customs brokers upon request to ensure timely customs clearanceReview, validate, and approve shipping requests for import and export compliance needs according to detailed documented proceduresManage client's customs consultants and customs brokers to ensure compliant, efficient, and cost-effective entry of goods.
Establish and monitor service providers' performance against clearly defined Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance in the following areas: Anti-boycott/Restrictive Trade Practices, export Control Classification, Export Licensing, Compliance training, Export Documentation, Tariff Classification, Customs Valuation, Duty Drawback, Reconciliation, Country of Origin Marking, Country of Origin Determination, Recordkeeping, Preference Programs/FTAs, and Customs ClearanceEnsure proper product tariff classification and valuation informationDevelop and maintain customized compliance programs and processes specific to client needGather data and create regular reports as needed for clientConduct audits to assess the export/import compliance of client and supporting operating entities
