As a seasoned professional in project portfolio management, you will lead and mature our Corporate IT Project Portfolio Management function.
Job Description:
* Ensure that the annual portfolio of initiatives is selected, prioritized, executed, and monitored in a way that delivers measurable business value and supports our Corporate IT strategy and wider business strategy.
* Lead the team of project managers to drive timely delivery of strategic projects managed by the PPM team.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a governance framework to ensure effective portfolio management.
2. Align project selection and prioritization with our Corporate IT strategy and OKRs.
3. Provide advisory recommendations on project approval, continuation, or termination.
Methodology & Standards:
1. Develop and roll out a v1 of our PPM methodology and embed it with project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
2. Define and enforce artefact standards, including business case RAID logs, status reports, benefits-realisation plans, and post-implementation reviews.
3. Continuously improve our methodology and ways of working based on lessons learned.
Portfolio Execution:
1. Ensure timely delivery of strategic projects managed by the PPM team.
2. Manage change requests and control critical project parameters such as scope, budget, and schedule.
Reporting & Analytics:
1. Publish monthly portfolio progress reports and dashboards highlighting financials, schedule, risk, and benefits realization.
2. Track our Corporate IT KPIs and produce quarterly strategy-execution reports (QPRs).
Benefits Management & Financial Control:
1. Partner with Finance to quantify, track, and validate project benefits and establish post-implementation evaluation procedures.
2. Monitor our capex/opex envelope and forecast variance.
People Leadership & Community Enablement:
1. Directly manage a PMO team of six project managers, coordinators, and portfolio managers.
2. Foster a wider community of practice for ~20 distributed project leads, providing coaching templates, and quality assurance.
Tooling & Continuous Improvement:
1. Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose PPM tooling once methodology adoption is at scale.
2. Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices, including waterfall for projects and agile for product backlogs.
Stakeholder Engagement:
1. Serve as a trusted advisor to VP Corporate IT, project sponsors, and C-level stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, and Product on matters related to Projects Portfolio Planning and Execution.
2. Facilitate steering-committee and executive-level decision making with clear data-driven insights.
Requirements:
* 10+ years in project, program, and/or portfolio management with at least 3 years leading a PMO/PPM function.
* Demonstrated success managing mixed portfolios of technology and business operations.
* Background in e-commerce ideally automotive or high-volume B2C/B2B digital businesses.
* Hands-on experience introducing or maturing PPM methodologies, benefits management, and executive reporting in distributed multilingual environments.
* Track record of coaching project managers and influencing senior stakeholders without direct decision rights.
* Portfolio credential PfMP or Agile/SAFe certification.
* Familiarity with SAP WMS or large-scale ERP roll-outs.
* Bachelor's degree in Business Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
* PMP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
* Fluency in English, company working language.
* Advanced knowledge of portfolio & project management best practices.
* Strong leadership and engagement skills with the ability to influence others and help them work together towards a shared objective.
* Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
