As a seasoned Portfolio Manager, you will lead our Corporate IT Project Portfolio Management (PPM) function to ensure the successful delivery of strategic projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Portfolio Governance & Strategy Alignment
* Develop and implement a robust governance framework to manage our project portfolio in accordance with industry best practices.
* Align project selection and prioritization with our Corporate IT strategy, objectives, and key results (OKRs).
* Provide expert advice on project approval, continuation, or termination based on business value and strategic alignment.
Methodology & Standards
* Establish and roll out a comprehensive PPM methodology, ensuring its adoption by project managers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
* Define and enforce standardized artefact templates (business case, RAID log, status report, benefits-realisation plan, post-implementation review).
* Drive continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing adjustments to our methodology and ways of working.
Portfolio Execution
* Oversee the timely delivery of strategic projects managed by the PPM team.
* Implement effective change request management processes to ensure critical project parameters (scope, budget, schedule) remain under control.
Reporting & Analytics
* Develop and publish regular portfolio progress reports and dashboards highlighting key financials, schedules, risks, and benefits realization.
* Track Corporate IT Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and produce quarterly strategy-execution reports (QPRs).
Benefits Management & Financial Control
* Partner with Finance to quantify, track, and validate project benefits, establishing post-implementation evaluation procedures.
* Monitor and forecast variance on financial resources allocated to projects.
People Leadership & Community Enablement
* Directly manage a PMO team of six members, comprising project managers, coordinators, and portfolio managers.
* Foster a community of practice for ~20 distributed project leads, providing coaching, templates, and quality assurance.
Tooling & Continuous Improvement
* Evaluate and recommend fit-for-purpose PPM tooling once methodology adoption is at scale.
* Drive continuous improvement of delivery practices (waterfall for projects, agile for product backlogs).
Stakeholder Engagement
* Serve as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders across Finance, Supply Chain, and Product on matters related to Projects Portfolio Planning and Execution.
* Facilitate steering-committee and executive-level decision making with clear, data-driven insights.
