Barsan Global Logistics is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Customs Broker Assistant to support customs clearance operations and ensure smooth coordination of import and export processes. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining compliance with customs regulations while providing excellent service to customers and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing and processing import and export customs documentation
Support customs clearance procedures in compliance with Portuguese customs regulations and international trade requirements
Communicate with customers, customs authorities, and internal departments regarding shipment status and documentation
Monitor and track customs declarations to ensure timely clearance of shipments
Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation is completed correctly
Coordinate with transport, warehouse, and operations teams to support smooth logistics processes
Assist in resolving customs-related issues and delays efficiently
Stay updated on customs procedures, tariff classifications, and regulatory changes
Provide administrative and operational support to the customs brokerage team
Qualifications & Skills
Previous experience in customs brokerage
Knowledge of UK customs procedures and import/export documentation is an advantage
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
Good problem-solving and analytical skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and logistics software systems
Bachelor's degree or relevant qualification in Logistics, Business, or a related field is preferred
