Senior Manager – Finance Operations (AP)
A dynamic, mid-market European private equity firm with offices across major financial hubs (and new locations planned for 2026) is setting up a European hub in Lisbon, enabling a greater balance of insourced operations and supporting the continued growth of the firm. Over time, the Lisbon hub is expected to centralise many finance and operations functions, offering excellent opportunities for career development and cross-border collaboration.
About the Role We are looking for a Senior Manager – Finance Operations to build and lead the Lisbon-based Finance Operations team, insourcing functions currently handled by external providers. This is a newly created role, offering the opportunity to design processes, implement systems, and shape the structure of a growing team (expected to reach around 8 people initially).
Key Responsibilities
* Finance Operations
o Establish and lead the Lisbon Finance Operations function, covering invoice processing, payments, banking administration, and payroll.
o Transition activities from outsourced administrators to in-house operations, implementing efficient, low-risk processes to manage a large number of entities.
o Ensure scalability of operations as the hub grows.
* Leadership
o Work closely with the Director – Firm Finance to design the structure and strategy of the Finance function.
o Provide strong leadership, driving efficiency and professional development within the team.
* Collaboration
o Partner with colleagues across Finance, Operations, and Investment teams to support the business.
o Contribute to broader transformation initiatives across the firm.
Skills & Experience
* 10+ years of experience in finance operations, with a proven track record of leading and scaling teams.
* Background in multinational environments strongly preferred.
* Strong systems knowledge (SAP and Concur are highly valued).
* Excellent written communication and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
