FULL-TIME VIDEO EDITOR (REMOTE – CONTRACT)
Start date: TBD (potentially Sept 1st)
We’re hiring a full-time video editor to join our creative team on a contract basis. This remote role begins with a 12-month commitment, with the intention to continue long term as we grow.
About Off Set
Off Set is a premium content production studio based in Calgary, built to serve agencies, creators, and storytellers with high standards. Our philosophy is simple: we set the stage, then get out of the way—supporting others’ visions through intentional design, intuitive systems, and quiet professionalism.
Right now, we’re putting the finishing touches on our physical space while preparing to launch the Off Set brand publicly. As momentum builds, we’re looking for an experienced editor to come alongside us—someone who can help shape how our work shows up in the world.
What You’ll Do:
● Edit high-quality multi-cam podcast episodes, branded content, reels, and sizzle videos
● Add motion graphics, captions, and clean typography
● Collaborate with the team on structure, pacing, and creative decisions
● Join Zoom calls to align on timelines, feedback, and project direction
● Organize and manage files using our NAS and Google Drive system
● Apply up-to-date knowledge of social media trends and editing best practices
What We’re Looking For:
● Advanced proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is ideal — but if you’re exceptional in Adobe Premiere and can match our quality expectations, we’re open to it
● Experience delivering content at a high production level
● A portfolio that shows variety, polish, and attention to detail
● Comfortable taking direction — and just as comfortable pitching creative ideas
● Strong sense of visual rhythm, storytelling, and timing
● A good ear for music and pacing — musical instinct plays a big role in creating dynamic, emotionally resonant edits
● Personable, collaborative, and passionate about creativity
Requirements:
● Own editing setup with fast, reliable internet
● Available full-time (flexible hours, deadline-driven work)
● Speaks English at a professional level (written and spoken)
● Works independently and communicates well remotely
● Reports to the owner and works closely with a small team
Bonus Points:
● Experience with basic audio mixing or sound cleanup
● Interest in growing into a larger role as the company expands
