The role
The Software Security Engineer will drive application security and secure DevOps processes across our engineering organization, with a focus on the emerging use of AI technologies. This engineer will work closely with development teams to establish secure coding practices and help define the "golden path" for safely integrating security capabilities into our development workflows. You'll create security frameworks, establish guardrails, and develop governance standards that enable engineering teams to leverage modern technologies, including AI-assisted development tools, while maintaining high security and reliability standards. This position is critical to ensuring our engineering organization can adopt new technologies safely and efficiently, while establishing a culture of security-first innovation
What You'll Be Doing
* Identify and mitigate security risks in software and platforms, including AI technologies.
* Build and maintain security solutions.
* Analyze vulnerabilities and assist in remediation efforts for applications and emerging technologies.
* Integrate security tools into development lifecycles and CI/CD pipelines.
* Lead and collaborate on secure technology adoption and best practice initiatives.
* Support security objectives as needed.
What You'll Bring
* Proficient experience in software development such as Python, JavaScript, or Java
* Solid familiarity with emerging technologies including AI and machine learning concepts
* Experience with application security testing including static and dynamic analysis
* Experience with automation and infrastructure tools such as CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms
* Experience conducting threat modeling exercises and risk assessments
* Experience working with cloud-based infrastructure and technologies, preferably AWS
* Understanding of security best practices and regulatory compliance requirements
* Knowledge of common attack vectors and security vulnerabilities
* Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and contribute to security initiatives.
* Ability to work well within a team, supporting a positive and inclusive team culture.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with a desire to learn how to assess technical risks and security challenges.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English and Portuguese);
