Experis is currently recruiting an Embedded Software Engineering Manager (Group Leader) to join an international technology and industrial company developing mission-critical embedded systems used worldwide in airports, public transportation and large infrastructures.
Location: Ovar, Portugal (hybrid model – 2 days/week onsite)
International environment: collaboration with engineering teams in Germany and the Netherlands
Key responsibilities
* Lead and develop an international team of software and firmware engineers (~10 people)
* Ensure delivery of embedded software projects on time, with quality and certification compliance
* Coordinate technical roadmap, releases and stakeholders
* Contribute hands-on when needed, acting as Product Owner or Test Architect
* Support team growth, coaching and performance development
Requirements
* Proven experience managing and developing software engineering teams
* Strong stakeholder management and roadmap planning experience
* Solid background in embedded software development (C/C++)
* Experience in Agile environments (Scrum, Product Ownership, or Test Leadership)
* Experience delivering products in deadline-driven environments
* Strong people leadership, coaching and team-building skills
* Fluent English and availability for occasional international travel

* Experience in safety-critical or certified environments
* Experience leading distributed international teams
* Experience as Product Owner, Test Lead, or Test Architect
