Design and Technology Technician Role
We are seeking a highly organised and practical technician to support the delivery of lessons, manage stock levels, and maintain premises.
Main Responsibilities:
* Support teachers in lesson preparation and delivery.
* Set up tools, equipment, and materials for classes and ensure workspaces are safe, tidy, and ready for use.
* Manage stock levels, order supplies as needed, and track inventory.
* Assist students during practical sessions.
* Ensure Health & Safety regulations are met.
* Support in the design, manufacture, and maintenance of displays, teaching aids, and learning resources.
* Stay updated on new tools, materials, and best practices in Design & Technology education.
Maintenance Support:
* Provide hands-on support for minor maintenance and repair tasks across the school premises.
* Collaborate with the Facilities team to ensure smooth daily operation of the school environment.
* Assist in setting up furniture, equipment, or resources for school events or logistical needs.
* Help identify and report any maintenance or safety issues promptly.
Ideal Candidate Qualifications:
* Relevant technical qualifications or experience in Design & Technology or a similar field.
* Strong organisational and practical skills.
* A good understanding of tools, machines, and materials used in a school D&T setting.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety standards and a proactive approach to safe working practices.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Fluent English (spoken and written).
* Enthusiastic, hands-on, and keen to support a creative learning environment.
