Position: Senior Charging & Mediation Engineer (Nokia NCC)
Location: Lisbon (hybrid 3x) Portugal
Profile: Engineer responsible for configuring, implementing, testing, and operating real-time charging solutions and data mediation in 4G/5G networks, with a primary focus on the Nokia Converged Charging (NCC) platform.
Key Responsibilities
Charging - Nokia NCC
* Configuration: Define tariffs, offers, and bundles (voice, data, SMS).
* Logic Development: Develop charging logic, rating engines, and business rules.
* Management: Manage balances, subscriber lifecycles, and provisioning.
* Testing: Conduct functional testing, integration, and SIT/UAT for charging flows.
* Troubleshooting: Analyze logs and Diameter messages (Gy/Gx/Sy).
* Migration: Support the migration from legacy charging platforms (OCS NCC).
* Deployment: Deploy and operate NCC within Kubernetes/microservices environments.
Mediation
* Pipelines: Create and maintain mediation pipelines (decoding, enrichment, correlation, and aggregation).
* Data Processing: Process and route high volumes of CDRs.
* Integration: Deliver data to Billing, Charging, Revenue Assurance (RA), Interconnect, and Analytics systems.
* Documentation: Produce technical documentation (HLD/LLD), including mappings, rules, and transformations.
* Collaboration: Coordinate with BSS, Core, PCRF/PCF, and Operations teams.
Cloud & Architecture
* Infrastructure: Expertise in Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud-native architecture.
* Protocols: Mastery of OSS/BSS protocols: Diameter, SS7, CAMEL, MAP.
* DevOps: Knowledge of Kafka, CI/CD, Ansible, and Terraform.
Scripting & Systems
* OS/Scripting: Linux/Unix, Shell, and Python.
* Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Cassandra (desirable).
Requirements
* Education: Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
* Experience: 5-10+ years of experience in Charging and Mediation.
* Specialization: Strong proficiency in Nokia NCC.
* Languages: English level B2 (minimum).
* Soft Skills: Strong communication and collaborative mindset.
