EPC Deputy Project Manager (Porto ou Oliveira de Frades) M/F

Our EPC Business Line is looking for a Deputy Project Manager (Porto e/ou Oliveira de Frades), that will support the Project Manager in planning, executing, and delivering projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. This role involves coordinating project activities, managing stakeholders, monitoring progress, and assisting in risk management.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Execution:
1. Assist in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets.
2. Monitor project progress, ensuring alignment with objectives and timelines.
3. Coordinate between teams, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth execution.
4. Support in managing project documentation, reporting, and compliance requirements.
Risk & Quality Management:
5. Identify potential project risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
6. Ensure quality control measures are implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
7. Support health, safety, and environmental compliance across project sites.
Stakeholder & Team Management:
8. Act as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
9. Facilitate communication between project teams, clients, and senior management.
10. Assist in resolving conflicts, bottlenecks, and operational challenges.
Financial & Contract Management:
11. Support the tracking of project expenditures and budget adherence.
12. Assist in contract administration and compliance with contractual obligations.
13. Prepare and participate in project performance review meetings and discussions.
14. Contribute to cost control and financial forecasting efforts.
Others:
15. Share and implement lessons learned.
16. Assist with preparing and evaluating tenders.
17. Document control.
18. Assisting with handover processes and activities.
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will have/ be :
19. Degree in Engineering (civil, electrical, mechanical, etc.).
20. Until 2 years site and project management experience with medium and large size projects (preferably in the energy sector).
21. Desirable previous experience dealing with the local utility / any utility for foreigners.
22. Qualification in project management or PMP is a plus.
23. Deep knowledge on Project controls (cost controls, contract management and scheduling).
24. Fluent in English, other languages would be a plus.
25. Availability to travel.
