As a Develepment Center, at Bontaz Portugal, we are pioneers in engineering and technology, continuously pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the automotive sectors.
Reporting directly to the R&D Pole Manager, the main responsibilities will be:
1. Designing, developing and validating the product according to the client's expectations;
2. Studying customer input data and specifications;
3. Organizing and leading the different phases of product design in collaboration with the Product Designers (calculations, creation of 3D geometry and drawings of components and assemblies);
4. Defining and updating the functional analysis;
5. Constructing the Design Validation Plan and designing the tools and mechanical means required for prototyping;
6. Organizing and monitoring prototype production in the industrialization phase.
The Product Engineer (M/F/D) creates, develops and validates the product in line with customer expectations in compliance with given technical, quality, cost and deadline criteria.
The Product Engineer (M/F/D) is responsible for the technical solution selected. When the project is assigned to their scope of intervention, they conduct a study of the customer input data and the technical file (Specifications, etc.), and take into account the rating data transmitted by their management.
7. Participation in the internal project kick-off meeting;
8. Organization and carry out of the product design phases, hand-in-hand with, where appropriate, the Product Designer(s) (M/F/D) and/or the Technical Designer(s) (M/F/D);
9. Creating 3D geometry;
10. Creating drawings of components, sub-assemblies, and assemblies;
11. Product dimensioning (Calculations, simulations, etc.);
12. DVP construction (on Proto parts, off tool, off process, IS, etc.).
Profile
We are looking for candidates with a background in Mechanical Engineering or similar, as well as knowledge of quality tools (e.g. APQP, AMDEC). You must have knowledge of 3D design software (CREO). Experience in the automotive sector is an asset. Proficiency in English (verbally and in writing) is mandatory and proficiency in French is recommended. We are looking for a dynamic person with a team spirit. Autonomy, adaptability and organization, a willingness to learn, as well as good communication skills are some of the skills desired for this position.
