This is a unique job opportunity for a young professional in hospitality & tourism. For the opening of our guesthouse "Casa Calmavista" we look for a HOTEL MANAGER to help us starting up this new business as of July 2025 Calmavista Lda is a family business that was founded by Andrea and Matthias Neuner, a German couple, in 2022 with the vision to offer stylish and contemporary holiday homes in the lower Douro valley. Casa Calmavista is currently under construction and will start its commercial operation in August 2025. The estate offers several Alojamente Local units:
• a house with 4 bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, a high-end professional kitchen and an infinity pool on the 100m2 terrace deck, overlooking the Douro.
• Adjacent to the main house there are 3 apartments: 1x T2 and 2 x T1. Each of the apartments features a full equipped kitchen, floor to ceiling sliding doors that extend the living room to the terrace deck and offer unobstructed views to the Douro. The 3 apartments share the second infinity pool. The location is in 4625-198 Paços de Gaiolo, close to the Barragem do Carrapatelo, 25min from Marco de Canaveses, 60min from Porto. The hotel manager will have the following responsibilities:
• Managing the day-to-day activities, including reservations, check-ins/outs, and guest services.
• Ensuring rooms and common areas are clean and well-maintained. Co-ordination of housekeeping staff. Occasionally perform housekeeping tasks.
• Maintain excellent conditions of all interior and exterior spaces. Coordination of external service providers for maintenance and repair. Execute basic maintenance and repair tasks.
• Providing excellent service to guests, addressing their needs and resolving any issues.
• Support for Marketing and Promotion: Developing strategies to attract new guests and promote the guesthouse.
• Ensuring the guesthouse adheres to health and safety regulations.
• Keeping track of supplies and ordering necessary items.
• Organizing and managing events held at the guesthouse. We offer:
