Senior SAP FICO Consultant – Luxury Retail | Remote (Lisbon)We are looking for an experienced Senior SAP FICO Consultant to join a long-term freelance engagement within the Luxury Retail sector.
This role is part of a stable, ongoing SAP landscape, offering the opportunity to work on complex finance processes in a premium retail environment.
Role & ResponsibilitiesAct as a Senior SAP FICO Consultant supporting Finance business processes in a luxury retail environmentAnalyze, configure, and optimize SAP FI and CO processes (GL, AP, AR, AA, Cost Centers, Profit Centers)Support end-to-end financial processes for retail operations, including stores, e-commerce, and intercompany flowsPerform advanced debugging to analyze issues in standard SAP and custom developmentsWork closely with ABAP developers to identify root causes and propose solutionsSupport integration with SD, MM, and Retail-specific processesHandle incidents, change requests, and continuous improvementsParticipate in functional testing, regression testing, and support activitiesCollaborate with international stakeholders and business usersEnsure adherence to SAP best practices and internal governance standards Required Skills & Experience8+ years of experience as an SAP FICO ConsultantStrong hands-on expertise in SAP FI and COProven experience in the Retail sector, ideally Luxury RetailSolid experience in debugging (reading and analyzing ABAP code, breakpoints, troubleshooting)Strong understanding of end-to-end financial flows in retail (stores, POS, inventory valuation, intercompany)Experience working in support and enhancement environmentsExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently in a freelance/contractor setupFluent English and Portuguese is mandatory Nice to HaveExperience with SAP S/4HANA FinanceExposure to SAP Retail or CARKnowledge of tax and localization topicsPrevious experience in international or multi-country rollouts Location & Work ModelLisbon, Portugal100% Remote Contract DetailsFreelance contractVery long-term engagement Opportunity for permanent employment within client's organization.
