About the Company A leading multinational company in the pharmaceutical sector is strengthening its Finance & Accounting operations in Lisbon. As part of the organization's Global Business Services (GBS), the Lisbon hub plays a key role in supporting several European markets and ensuring high-quality financial processes across the region. To support the Accounts Payable activities for the DACH region, the company is currently looking for an Accounts Payable Accountant (m/f/d) to join a growing and collaborative international team. Your New Role As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will provide essential support to AP operations, acting as a backup for the German entities and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of invoices and related financial tasks. Your responsibilities will include: Processing Accounts Payable tasks for several European entities; Receipt, review and audit of invoices; Entering, checking and posting invoices with and without Purchase Order (PO); Managing accruals and performing account reconciliations; Verifying invoice validation results in the VIM tool and proceeding according to workflow; Liaising with requesters for goods receipt confirmation when required; Handling discrepancies and routing invoices for approval as needed; Supporting payment run activities when required; Ensuring correct application of accounting standards and internal controls; Maintaining vendor accounts and ensuring accuracy of postings; Participating in process optimization and improvement initiatives; Collaborating with internal stakeholders across Europe and supporting project-related activities. What You Need to Succeed Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or similar field. 5+ years of experience in Accounts Payable or Finance & Accounting; Experience in GBS/Shared Service environments (highly valued); Solid knowledge of accounting principles and cost/performance accounting; Strong understanding of end-to-end AP processes; Background in Accounting is essential — ability to interpret validations, identify errors and ensure compliant postings. Experience in SAP S/4HANA (mandatory) German and English fluency (mandatory). Other European languages are a strong advantage. Strong analytical skills and problem-solving ability; Curious, proactive, and oriented toward continuous improvement; Strong team spirit, willingness to support colleagues and collaborate across cultures; Ability to work under pressure and manage several priorities.
