Your new company You will join a discreet and deeply established organisation operating in the global wealth and asset-management sector, known for its long-term approach, independence and responsible investment principles. With a heritage spanning more than two centuries, the firm has evolved into an international group with offices in major financial hubs worldwide. It focuses solely on investment-related services excluding commercial lending or investment ranking and is guided by values such as partnership, long-term thinking and accountability. Your new role You will play a pivotal part in building the organisation's next-generation AI platform, contributing directly to the software components that make AI usable, scalable and impactful across the business. While the platform foundations already exist, you will help shape its evolution—developing APIs, integrating AI capabilities, and enabling teams to deploy modern LLM-based solutions in real products. Working closely with a small engineering group—including two AWS-focused DevOps engineers—you will design cloud-native components, solve cross-functional technical challenges and act as a bridge between software engineering and applied AI. This role is ideal for someone with a strong engineering mindset, hands-on experience with modern AI approaches, and the ability to communicate complex topics clearly in a collaborative, largely remote environment. Key responsibilities include: Design and build robust APIs and backend components (primarily in Python) to support AI capabilities across the organisation. Develop software that enables practical application of LLM-based systems, including RAG pipelines and agentic AI behaviours. Integrate cloud-native services—mainly within AWS—to ensure scalability, security and operational reliability. Collaborate closely with developers, DevOps and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions. Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to best practices around design patterns and cloud architecture. Troubleshoot issues, run root-cause analyses and ensure high engineering standards throughout delivery. Work autonomously and communicate clearly in a distributed team, ensuring alignment around goals and solutions. What you'll need to succeed +5 years of experience as Software Engineer with experience in AI Strong foundations in software engineering and system design. Experience building and maintaining APIs, ideally using Python. Solid understanding of cloud platforms AWS is highly preferred and may be essential. Familiarity with LLM building blocks and modern GenAI concepts. Exposure to RAG architectures, agentic AI systems or real-world AI product development. Ability to pass a technical assessment with the engineering team. What you'll get in return A modern engineering environment with cutting-edge technologies and premium hardware Hybrid working model and flexible working hours A collaborative, knowledge-sharing tech culture with high professional standards A safe space to experiment, challenge ideas and drive innovation The opportunity to make a tangible impact in an organisation where your voice is valued A culture built on non-negotiable values: excellence, integrity, respect and fun Next Steps Is this the challenge you've been looking for?
