Opportunity: Region Risk and Internal Control Manager
The Region Risk & Internal Control Manager role is a strategic and operational leader responsible to:
* Contribute to the development and implementation of risk management and internal control strategy for the region
* Lead and coordinate the Risk & Internal Control community in the region to ensure that they effectively facilitate risk assessment and monitor controls in place in conjunction with all the business management teams, highlighting improvements which can be made and helping to implement them.
* Roll out tools and provide guidance on risk management and internal controls for both operational teams and R&IC teams
* Provide support to other risk functions (legal, tax, ethics, HR, health & safety, IT security) in their risk mitigation
* Represent the finance community in the Region Ethics and Compliance Committee (RECCO)
What will you do?
* Coordinate, engage and motivate the teams engaged in Risk & Internal Control activities in the region
* Train the teams on Risk & Internal Control methodology & systems
* Mentor new team members by being available for advice and maintaining regular contact
* Participate in operational projects to help the region achieve its objectives; this could be helping standardize best practices, coordinating a project, working with other functions to roll out a process or procedures.
* Organise and foster exchange of operational best practices amongst teams engaged in Risk & Internal Control activities in the region
* Support other risk functions in initiatives such as the data protection program and the Ethics & Compliance program
* Coordinate and prepare the RECCO meeting together with the stakeholders of the Ethics & Compliance program
* Manage the risk assessment process for the region and establish the region risk profile for both operational risks and responsible business conduct risks (human rights and corruption)
* Manage the Company Level Controls (CLC) reporting process for the region, including timely input of all results into the internal control tool, Mate Risk; review the quality of the reports and give feedback to the countries in advance of submission
* Review and challenge each country's scope of Process Level Controls and set progress milestones throughout the year; review quality of testing and results
* Be a partner for Group Risk & Internal Control, giving input into Group focus, and challenging, when necessary
* Review progress on Group Internal Audit action plans with countries.
What you'll need to succeed?:
* More than 10 years related professional experience.
* Global mindset, international experience,
* Fluency in English required, any other language is an advantage.
* Flexible and pragmatic
* Adaptable, able to deal with ambiguity
* Ability to work autonomously
* Excellent communication skills are critical – across all levels/departments/nationalities
* Good knowledge of business
* Good organizational skills and ability to respect deadlines
* Strong partnering capabilities with senior regional management
