Job Title: HSE Lead Specialist
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Manager to lead the implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS) on a large-scale infrastructure project in Angola.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of the IMS in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
* Ensure full compliance with national legislation and international frameworks (IFC Performance Standards, Equator Principles, and World Bank EHS Guidelines).
* Oversee the application of environmental and social mitigation measures, including biodiversity management, stakeholder engagement, and grievance mechanisms.
* Guide and mentor the HSEQ team, ensuring alignment with project goals, clear task allocation, and staff development.
* Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventive actions.
* Coordinate stakeholder and community engagement in close collaboration with the social performance team.
* Ensure quality assurance in construction activities through regular inspections, audits, and follow-up on non-conformities.
* Deliver training and awareness sessions on HSEQ and ESG-related topics across all levels of the project team.
Key Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Social Sciences, Occupational Health & Safety, or related discipline.
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in HSEQ roles with strong emphasis on environmental and social compliance, preferably in infrastructure or EPC projects.
* Proven track record implementing IFC Performance Standards.
* Strong knowledge of international IMS standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
* Demonstrated experience working in multi-stakeholder environments, including engagement with local communities and government entities.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
* Experience working in African countries is considered an asset.
* Languages: Fluency in Portuguese and English is mandatory. Spanish is considered an asset.
