Job Description:
As a marketing director, you will lead the strategy and execution of paid media campaigns to grow donor acquisition, increase recurring contributions, and amplify Wikimedia's message across global markets.
Your primary responsibilities include defining market-by-market paid media strategies, forecasting and optimizing budgets, building clean account structures, and measuring and analyzing campaign performance.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop a quarterly test-and-learn plan aligned to fundraising and awareness goals.
* Forecast, pace, and optimize large multi-country budgets toward CPA/CPD targets.
* Build clean account structures; brand/non-brand strategy; audience layering; creative iteration; feed hygiene; YouTube & PMax excellence.
* Measure and analyze campaign performance using GA4, GTM, Enhanced Conversions/Consent Mode, and Meta CAPI.
* Design A/B and geo-lift/holdout tests; document the learning agenda and scale winners.
* Uphold platform policies, privacy standards, and regional content/risk guidelines.
* Coach channel leads/specialists; standardize processes, QA, and performance reviews.
Qualifications:
* 8+ years in performance marketing with proven results in Facebook & Google Ads across multi-market programs (e-commerce, lead gen, or fundraising).
* Track record managing large, multi-country budgets and multilingual campaigns.
* Deep experience with Smart Bidding (tROAS/tCPA), audience strategy, creative testing, YouTube & Performance Max.
* Proficient with GA4, GTM, Looker Studio; bonus for SA360/CM360 and server-side tracking.
* Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and English communication skills; comfortable working remote and cross-timezone.
