Through our projects, we have built a strong reputation as a trusted partner in delivering some of the most advanced, efficient, and sustainable Data Centre solutions in the region.About the RoleCTS Group is seeking an experienced, innovative, and resourceful Design Manager with a strong Data Center focus to join our Lisbon office.
This role will lead and manage the design development process for Data Center projects, ensuring compliance with regulations, standards, and best practices while delivering optimized, sustainable, and high-performance design solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the design development process for Data Center projects.Collaborate with internal teams, architects, engineers, and contractors to deliver cohesive design solutions.Ensure compliance with Nordic/European building codes, industry regulations, and sustainability practices.Oversee preparation and review of architectural, structural, and MEP drawings, specifications, and documentation.Drive design optimization enhances efficiency, scalability, and operational performance.Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to meet design objectives.Coordinate with stakeholders to incorporate client requirements into design solutions.Conduct design reviews, risk assessments, and early issue mitigation.Stay up to date with emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in Data Center design.Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence within the design team.Required Skills and ExperienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related field.Minimum 8 years of professional experience, including 2+ years in Data Center design.Ideally, strong background in Mechanical and Electrical Engineering.Proven experience in design management, business management preferably within the data center, industrial, or commercial construction sectors.Strong knowledge of architectural, structural, and MEP systems in mission-critical facilities such as Data Centers, hospitals, or energy infrastructure.Familiarity with Nordic/European building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards, as well as international Data Center standards (ASHRAE, Uptime Institute, TIA, EN50600).
Proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and BIM tools.Knowledge of sustainable and energy-efficient solutions in Data Center design.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects, manage timelines and budgets effectively.Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership capabilities.Effective communication and stakeholder management skills; collaborative team player in multidisciplinary environments.Detail-oriented, ensuring all test results, performance data, and handover documentation are accurate and compliant.Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.Proficiency in English (mandatory, written and oral).
