Vila Joya—home to a renowned
two-Michelin-star restaurant
, an acclaimed fine-dining Beach Restaurant, and a Pool Restaurant—is seeking an experienced
Spanish Chef
to join its exceptional kitchen team. This is a rare opportunity for a talented and ambitious professional with at least two years of experience in a Spanish specialty restaurant as Chef de Partie or Sous Chef, who demonstrates precision, a deep respect for Spanish flavours and tapas, and a strong motivation to grow within a fine-dining environment. While you will lead your own autonomous
Flying Spanish Team
, you will also become part of Vila Joya's exclusive boutique hotel culture, where we strive to create a genuine sense of "home" for both guests and colleagues.

Under the guidance of highly experienced chefs, each bringing distinct expertise, you will further refine your skills in fine dining, casual gastronomy, and tapas, contributing to Vila Joya's internationally recognised culinary excellence. All culinary operations are led by
two-Michelin-star Chef Dieter Koschina
and
Chef Stefan Langmann

Working days will be
Monday and Tuesday (lunch and dinner)
, and
Wednesday and Thursday (lunch only):
4 day work week for full time contract.

Important

Applicants must already hold
legal authorization to work in Portugal
, as visa sponsorship is not possible for this position.

Key Responsibilities and our needs

As
Spanish Flying chef
, you will:

* Work closely with our experienced team to prepare and present dishes to the Executive and Head chef of our restaurants.
* Ensure consistency and creativity in plating, flavor, and execution.
* Maintain impeccable kitchen hygiene and organizational habits in a high-pressure environment.
* Support junior chef de partie/ demi chef de partie, fostering teamwork and knowledge-sharing.
* Ensure products are handled correctly and in compliance with hygiene regulations
* Control stock levels and communicate purchasing needs to the procurement department
* Adapt to the location, organising efficiently the mise en place, service and clean up.
* Manage your kitchen with efficiency and precision, ensuring smooth service flow.

Our Ideal Candidate Must Possess:

* At least 2 years of experience in as a Chef de Partie or Sous chef
,, demonstrating technical expertise and attention to detail.
* Formal culinary training; vocational qualifications or higher education in hospitality are an advantage.
* Solid knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
* Knowledge and passion for Spanish Cuisine including tapas.
* A

approach to fine dining, balancing innovation with precision.
* A
team-player mentality

* Passion for food and eagerness to learn

* A fair level of English
