The Role

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Sequencing Team within the Molecular Biology Unit, for a 6-month IEFP [+TALENTO] internship. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career scientist to contribute to cutting-edge antibody discovery programs by performing DNA sequencing activities using established molecular biology and sequencing methodologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform DNA extraction, purification, PCR amplification, and DNA quantification using established molecular biology protocols.
• Prepare samples, sequencing reactions, and libraries for Sanger sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows.
• Set up, monitor, and maintain sequencing runs while ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards.
• Analyse sequencing data, perform quality assessments, and support accurate data interpretation and reporting.
• Maintain laboratory records, follow Good Laboratory Practices, and contribute to efficient team operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Profile

• Eligible for IEFP [+TALENTO] internship.
• BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques and DNA extraction.
• Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Nice to Have

• Experience with DNA and/or RNA sequencing workflows.
• Experience with Sanger sequencing and/or Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.
• Familiarity with sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics tools.
