The Role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Intern to join our Sequencing Team within the Molecular Biology Unit, for a 6-month IEFP [+TALENTO] internship. This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career scientist to contribute to cutting-edge antibody discovery programs by performing DNA sequencing activities using established molecular biology and sequencing methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform DNA extraction, purification, PCR amplification, and DNA quantification using established molecular biology protocols.
- Prepare samples, sequencing reactions, and libraries for Sanger sequencing and Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflows.
- Set up, monitor, and maintain sequencing runs while ensuring compliance with laboratory quality standards.
- Analyse sequencing data, perform quality assessments, and support accurate data interpretation and reporting.
- Maintain laboratory records, follow Good Laboratory Practices, and contribute to efficient team operations and continuous improvement initiatives.
Your Profile
- Eligible for IEFP [+TALENTO] internship.
- BSc or MSc in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- Hands-on laboratory experience in molecular biology techniques and DNA extraction.
- Strong organisational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Problem-solving mindset and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills.
Nice to Have
- Experience with DNA and/or RNA sequencing workflows.
- Experience with Sanger sequencing and/or Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies.
- Familiarity with sequencing data analysis and bioinformatics tools.
