Business Analyst in Cash Management

Location: Lisbon
Main Tasks:
* Lead engagement with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, refine, and document business requirements for Cash Management and Core Banking solutions.
* Translate complex business requests into clear functional specifications, ensuring alignment between business needs and technical delivery.
* Lead workshops, brainstorming sessions, and collaborative meetings to define and design use cases and user stories.
* Work closely with Technical Experts and offshore Technical BAs to ensure full accountability of Product Detailed Specifications (PDS).
* Provide clarifications to project teams during development phases regarding business and functional requirements.
* Arrange and chair meetings with business stakeholders and technology teams to ensure requirements are fully understood, complete, and accurate.
* Recommend process improvements to align client operations with proposed Core Banking System capabilities and maximize solution value.
* Maintain ownership of project artefacts and collaborative documentation across all phases of the project lifecycle.
* Contribute to project planning by providing workload estimates and supporting execution of the project plan.
* Contribute to the preparation of Test Strategies and Test Plans, including functional, regression, and peripheral testing.
* Prepare and execute functional testing to support UAT, including defect arbitration and validation against signed-off requirements.
* Support post go-live checks across core and external systems impacted by the project.
* Provide continuous support to clients during requirement gathering, testing, deployment, and solution presentations.
* Contribute to the development of additional services around banking products and help expand product-related competencies.
Profile:
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in IT or a related field.
* Minimum 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, with a proven track record working with distributed delivery teams across geographies.
* Strong experience in Cash Management and Core Banking environments.
* Solid experience analysing customer business requests and producing functional specifications.
* Strong ability to lead workshops, define use cases, write user stories, and manage stakeholder interactions.
* Experience contributing to test strategy, test planning, and functional testing/UAT support.
* Strong analytical, structured, process-driven, and detail-oriented mindset.
* Strong problem-solving and facilitation skills.
* Ability to provide guidance and clarification to project teams throughout the development lifecycle.
Technical Skills:
* Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
* Technology awareness in COBOL, SQL, APIs, and Digital Banking.
* Functional Expertise:
* Strong knowledge of Cash Management, including:
* Liquidity management, cash pooling, zero balancing, cash flow forecasting, and virtual accounts
* Payment and collection factories
* International bank connectivity (host-to-host, SWIFTNet, EBICS)
* SWIFT MT94x reporting
* Cash concentration and disbursement solutions
* Regulatory awareness (AML, KYC, liquidity ratios)
* Relevant experience in Operations (back and middle office) and Financial Messaging / Payments, including:
* ISO 20022 migration for payment flows (SEPA, SIC, SWIFT, Singapore MEPS, HK, etc.)
* Experience in a Private Banking environment is a plus.
Language Skills:
* Fluency in English is mandatory (minimum B2).
