Key Responsibilities
* Taking charge of accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring smooth cash flow.
* Preparing and maintaining critical financial records and reports, and assisting in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
* Mastery of invoice reconciliations and accurate inputting of accounting entries into our ERP system.
* Performance of detailed bank statement and general ledger account reconciliations.
* Overseeing payroll processing and review, ensuring compliance to labour laws.
* Maintenance of impeccable and well-organized financial documentation.
* Conducting vital monthly cost reconciliations and promptly issuing invoices.
Required Skills and Qualifications
* A High School diploma or Accounting professional training or a university degree in Accounting.
* A minimum of 5 years of proven experience in an accounting or payroll role within a dynamic corporate setting.
* Strong knowledge of Portuguese labour laws – Highly preferred.
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
* Familiarity with diverse accounting tools/software is a bonus.
* Bilingual fluency in English and Portuguese (both written and spoken) is essential for effective communication.
* Comfortable working US time zone when needed.
* Algarve-based residency is preferred due to Hybrid environment.
