Unified Communications Engineer
About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Unified Communications Engineer to join our team in Brussels, Belgium. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented professional to relocate and take on a challenging role.
* Provide first and second-line support for voice systems within the Service Centre.
* Diagnose and resolve voice-related incidents and issues involving Skype for Business (SFB) and Session Border Controllers (SBCs).
* Monitor Unified Communications systems proactively, addressing potential service interruptions before they escalate.
* Perform patching and updates on voice systems, particularly SFB and SBC platforms.
* Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and technical documentation for supported systems.
* Liaise with internal teams and external service lines for incident resolution and system enhancements.
* Assist in implementing assigned project work packages within Unified Communications.
* Operate independently with limited supervision, meeting quality targets and coordinating personal workload.
* Participate in out-of-hours or weekend work as required.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by the Head of Network Management.
Requirements:
* Higher vocational training in a relevant discipline with at least 2 years of post-related experience, or secondary education with at least 4 years of post-related experience.
* Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in a similar role.
* At least 3 years of experience in deploying, operating, and configuring Unified Communications systems such as Microsoft Lync or Skype for Business.
* Strong experience working with Voice SBC systems and associated troubleshooting tools.
* Solid understanding of VoIP protocols and standards including SIP, TLS, MGCP, H.323, RTP (G.711, G.729 codecs), etc.
* Proficiency with Microsoft PowerShell scripting for voice system tasks and automation.
* Experience with monitoring tools such as Microsoft SCOM or ZABBIX.
* Familiarity with the operations and maintenance of PABX systems and provisioning of Polycom devices.
