The company provides professional services and has over 120 people based in Ireland, UK, Portugal, Malta and India.
The company has been growing quickly and is expanding its critical finance operations to facilitate further growth.
In this newly created Senior Financial Accountant position, you will report directly to the CFO, and have dotted line into the CEO.
You will have the opportunity to strategically impact the finance function and the broader organisation as the company continues to professionalise and reorganise its finance function.
You will join an existing team of 6 finance people based in Ireland and Portugal.
You will have the opportunity in the coming months to manage and mentor more junior finance team members.
The company has a Group structure and you will take full ownership of one of the business units and then participate in Group Finance functions.
This company has expanded and wishes to improve finance operations and accounting processes and there is an opportunity to contribute to implementing best practices to facilitate future growth.
The business plans to grow and is expanding in 2 new international markets in 2025.
You will be actively involved in one of these market expansions.
You will:
Manage the finance function for 2 entitiesManage and lead a small team for Accounts Receivable and other routine finance tasksUnderstand the government employment processes and payrollManage KYC processesIdentify and implement process improvements seeking efficienciesDrive the financial planning for market expansionCreate controls and accountability of functions to ensure accuracy of financial recordsRun the

- end closing processesAssist document processes and contribute to training material and a knowledge baseAssist in hiring and developing a finance function which will enable further growthLook for opportunities to drive cost reductionsAssist in departmentalising and creating accountability/ownership for the finance functionSkills / Experience:
Professional Accounting Qualification6 + years professional experience2 + years people management experienceExperience as a Company Accountant within a company with a headcount of 100-500 peopleAdvantages
2 + years payroll experienceExamples of mentoring finance team membersExperience with process improvement in a finance functionExperience with structuring finance functions or examples of successful finance teamsBased in the Porto Office 5 days per week
