Customer Credit Governance Lead
About the Role:
Key Responsibilities:
* Conducting thorough analyses and evaluations of customer credit risk to ensure accurate assessment.
* Developing customized credit management policies for customers, taking into account their specific needs and circumstances.
* Providing expert guidance and support to credit analyst teams on manual rating frameworks and key performance indicators.
* Managing vendor relationships, addressing critical issues and collaborating with analysts on rating frameworks and metrics.
* Serving as a primary point of contact for complex customer credit concerns raised by regional teams.
* Partnering with Accounting to ensure seamless integration of credit risk data into broader credit management processes and IFRS 9 provisioning.
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop innovative, customer-centric risk management tools such as parent guarantees, bank guarantees, and collateral options.
* Designing and implementing automated and manual models for evaluating customer credit risk in accordance with company policies.
* Working closely with IT to implement, test, and approve changes in automated credit rating/limit models.
* Ensuring strict adherence to the customer credit management policy framework and regulatory requirements.
* Maintaining strong connections with external service providers that assist with credit scoring and data analytics.
* Serving as a liaison for addressing concerns raised by regional teams regarding credit agencies.
* Delivering high-level reports on open customer credit exposures, trends, and key risk indicators to senior management.
* Contributing to risk-related regulatory and compliance reporting, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
Requirements:
* A bachelor's or master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, along with relevant work experience.
* Strong governance approach with a proven ability to create, implement, and oversee customer credit frameworks.
* Critical thinking and ability to translate complex credit requirements into scalable, efficient processes.
* Over a decade of experience in managing credit risk for customers, preferably within a corporate environment.
* Proficient knowledge of financial analysis, credit rating methodologies, and risk management frameworks.
* Experience working with large, sophisticated entities or multinational clients is highly valued.
* Understanding of the energy and industrial sectors, including project finance, large-scale supply chains, and market trends.
* Proficient knowledge of financial documents, credit scoring models, and cash flow analysis.
* Ability to identify and quantify risks associated with complex, long-term projects and customers in regulated markets.
* Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret large volumes of data and present insights effectively.
* Proficiency in English is required, and an additional language is preferred.
* Knowledge of international trade regulations, export controls, and geopolitical risks.
* Agile and adaptable mentality with a proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation.
