About the role
We're an early-stage hardware startup developing a connected consumer device that combines
electronics, mechanics, and enclosure design
. We're looking for a
hands-on Hardware & Product Design Engineer
to help us take the product from functional requirements to a
manufacturable prototype
.
This role is focused on
designing and preparing everything needed for prototype manufacturing
, working closely with external manufacturers.
What you'll be responsible for
* Creating
mechanical and internal design drawings
for a compact electronic device
* Designing
internal layout
(electronics placement, camera, motors, speakers, mic, battery, wiring)
* Preparing
3D CAD files
(STP/STEP format) suitable for
3D printing and prototyping
* Supporting
prototype assembly structure
and design-for-manufacturing (DFM) considerations
* Collaborating with manufacturers to validate designs before tooling and molds
* Iterating designs based on prototype feedback
What we're looking for
* Experience in
hardware product design
(consumer electronics, IoT, robotics, or similar)
* Strong skills in
3D CAD
(SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Creo, or similar)
* Experience designing for
3D printing and early-stage prototyping
* Understanding of
electronics–mechanical integration
* Ability to work independently from functional requirements (not just specs)
* Comfortable working remotely with international manufacturing partners
Nice to have
* Experience with
DFM / DFA
* Prior work with
Chinese manufacturers
* Experience bringing products from
prototype → production
