We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior KDB+ Developer to join our Global Markets Analytics team. This isn't just about managing a database; it's about stewarding the high-performance data foundation that powers real-time and historical analytics for our global Cash Equities business.
You will be a core member of the team responsible for designing and maintaining production-grade KDB+ systems that ingest, transform, and serve massive sets of electronic market data.
The Tech & Data Stack:
* The Core: KDB+/q (High-performance ticker plants, RDB, HDB).
* Visualization: Python (Plotly/Streamlit) or Tableau for business dashboards.
* Environment: Low-latency Linux infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines.
* The Data: Full-stack Electronic Equities market data (Raw feeds, metrics, and analytics).
What You'll Do:
* Engineer the Foundation: Design, code, and deploy KDB+/q services that enrich raw market data with complex metrics, presenting it for maximum impact to traders and quants.
* Performance Tuning: Profile and tune KDB queries. You are the one who identifies bottlenecks in data retrieval and optimizes the pipeline stages for ultra-low latency.
* Strategic Collaboration: Partner with data scientists, quants, and business stakeholders to refine requirements and deliver the data foundations they need to win the market.
* Self-Service Innovation: Develop visual tools and dashboards (Streamlit/Python) that allow analysts to explore equities data without needing to write a single line of q code.
* System Stewardship: Participate in on-call rotations and perform deep root-cause analysis on production incidents. You ensure schema validation and outlier detection are baked into the system.
Who You Are (Requirements):
* The Expert: You have 3–7+ years of hands-on experience developing in KDB+/q. You understand the intricacies of ticker plant architectures and historical database (HDB) management.
* Analytical Powerhouse: You possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex datasets under pressure.
* Full-Stack Mentality: You aren't just a backend developer. You have experience (or a strong interest) in Python (Plotly/Streamlit) to make data accessible to the business.
* Education: A Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related quantitative field.
* Communication: Exceptional English skills. You can explain complex data structures to both developers and C-level stakeholders.
Why Join Us?
* Market Leader: Join a global \"powerhouse\" in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB).
* Front Office Exposure: Work directly with Trading, Research, and Structuring teams.
* Hybrid Culture: A modern, high-growth environment in Lisbon's premier European HUB.
