Project Manufacturing Leader Role
As a key member of our program core team, the project manufacturing leader plays a crucial role in the industrialization of production lines across multiple plant locations. The goal is to define and implement the best production systems and line concepts while ensuring compliance with TE global auto industrial strategy and standards.
Main Responsibilities
1. Design for Manufacturing
o Contribute to product design compliant with TE industrial targets and allow maximum production profitability.
2. Footprint and Make or Buy Studies
o Conduct preliminary footprint analysis including make or buy comparative studies.
3. Production System Definition
o Organize, lead, and follow up on lean industrial design workshop activity involving program and plant team functions under coordination of ME or launch director.
o Build initial program internal material & information flow diagram (MIFD), line lay out with production system and logistics areas footprint calculations.
o Work with plant for proper implementation.
o Identify any industrial risk, define back-up plan for critical processes, and provide industrial impact on any engineering change request.
4. Process FMEA
o Participate in definition of key product characteristics (KPC) and key control characteristics (KCC).
o Coordinate and lead PFMEA methodology during program phase with active participation of process experts including plant PLTL or process engineer.
5. CER Committee
o Optimize program investment through reuse, bundling, massification etc.
o Build and monitor detailed program investment list.
o Work together with program and plant manager to ensure proper submission and investment management.
6. Industrial Performance
o Define and track main industrial performance indicators:
+ Direct labor headcount and work content
+ Scrap process rate
+ Process capabilities
+ Capacity status and process cycle time including equipment utilization monitoring (data from plant)
+ Rework monitoring
+ Material yield
+ Launch costs consolidated in business plan
+ Program investment
7. PAC Reviews Reporting
o Report progress status on manufacturing work packages and related program milestones.
o All PMLs participate in PML-or regional ME department weekly routine.
