Required Skills and Qualifications
Key Responsibilities:
* Keep core applications running smoothly
* Own and manage production incidents
* Be hands-on in change management
* Update documentation
* Test backups, fine-tune load capacity, and monitor performance
* Participate in on-call rotations and be ready for off-hours action
* Drive automation and continuous improvement
* Collaborate with dev teams to architect smarter applications
Desirable Skills:
* Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role
* Experience in both Linux and Windows system administration
* Hands-on with schedulers like BMC/Control-M
* Scripting skills in Shell, Python, or PowerShell
* Familiarity with JBoss, Tomcat, Apache, or IIS
* Comfort with databases like Oracle, Sybase, SQL Server, or MySQL, and basic SQL knowledge
* Experience with backup tools, monitoring systems (Zabbix, Grafana), and infrastructure tools (LDAP, AD, Kerberos, etc)
* Bonus points for knowledge of containers and networking basics
