Electrical Generator Control Commissioning Engineer
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
* Perform cold and hot commissioning activities of generator and electric control systems, ensuring safe, reliable operation of equipment and functionality as specified and technically vital.
* Responsible for the generator excitation, protection and synchronization systems.
* Optimization of controls and regulations.
* Tackle hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, detailing problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
* Carrying out trial operations and customer training as well as technical customer advice.
* Carrying out troubleshooting and contact person for incident analyses.
Requirements
* Bachelor, Licentiate or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable qualification, with a specialization in the field of electrical and control technology, power plant technology, energy technology or comparable training.
* Preferably, but not mandatory, several years of professional experience in field service, especially in the commissioning of generators and generator-related control technology or commissioning of electrical protection systems (SIPROTEC or similar) or commissioning of start-up frequency converters/excitation equipment.
* Declared intention to live and work abroad for long periods.
* Good knowledge of energy production and distribution is desirable.
* Valid passport and driving license.
* Willingness to regular travel worldwide and to be away from home for long periods of time with short notice to mobilization.
* Able to work on weekends and bank holidays if required.
* High level of written and spoken English.
