A Sommelier is responsible for recommending wines and maintaining a thorough and current knowledge of wines to deliver an excellent Guest and Member experience while assisting with achieving departmental targets.
What will I be doing?
As a Sommelier, you will be responsible for recommending wines and providing expert knowledge to guests. You will also assist in achieving department targets. Your tasks include:
- Providing professional and current wine knowledge to guests
- Recommending wines to complement dishes
- Describing and upselling wines to enhance customer experience
- Suggesting wines for new menus aligned with budget
- Projecting a professional manner with a focus on hospitality and guest service
- Ensuring accurate billing
- Serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in compliance with licensing regulations
- Adhering to hotel security, fire regulations, and health and safety legislation
- Attending hotel training sessions
What are we looking for?
Our Hilton Sommelier works on behalf of our Guests and collaborates with Team Members. To succeed, you should demonstrate:
- Experience in customer service within hotel, leisure, or retail sectors
- Good grooming standards
- A passion for delivering exceptional guest service
- Ability to work independently and in teams
Preferred qualifications include:
- Experience as a Wine Waiter/Waitress or Sommelier
