About The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Controller overseeing our Business Operations to join our SDO team in Lisbon. As a Business Controller – Business Operations, you will enable Business Operations and its Finance Business Partners to maximize their financial contributions to the STG company goals. Success is measured by improved financial predictability, forecast accuracy, and the ability of the Business Operations team to enhance financial performance year over year.
WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
1. Communicating updates, issues, and problems related to the Financial and Business Controlling process to the Reporting & Analytics CoE Solution Lead.
2. Supporting Group R&A in inventory accounting, reconciliation, stock difference analysis, and aging analysis in collaboration with Finance Business Partners.
3. Conducting Financial and Business Controlling activities, explaining deviations, and identifying root causes with Finance Business Partners.
4. Analyzing purchase price variance (PPV) and purchase orders.
5. Monitoring CAPEX and Fixed Assets with the Asset Accounting Team and providing inputs for asset capitalization.
6. Providing insights into maintenance costs with support from BI reports on spare parts usage.
7. Preparing financial planning and rolling forecasts in coordination with Finance Business Partners and uploading data into Jedox.
8. Supporting projects by providing and uploading data requests from Finance Business Partners.
9. Proactively raising issues that could impact activities within timelines.
10. Identifying opportunities for process improvements within the controlling function and implementing streamlined processes.
11. Participating in training related to ERP systems and planning tools to enhance capabilities.
WHAT SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE ARE REQUIRED?
1. Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Finance; MBA, CMA, or CPA preferred.
2. 3-5 years of relevant business controlling / FP&A experience.
3. Strong understanding of financial reporting and controlling activities.
4. Experience with financial forecasting software and ERP systems (preferably SAP S/4 HANA), proficiency in Excel.
5. Experience with consolidation and planning tools such as IBM Cognos and Jedox is a plus.
6. Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills.
7. Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
8. Experience in a Shared Service Center or multinational environment is advantageous.
